We manufacture wedge wire screens by resistance welding V-shaped wire on support rods. Our wedge wire screens begin with raw wire then are cut, shaped, fabricated, and cleaned to achieve the best quality.

In order to meet your application needs, wedge wire can be ordered as raw screen material or as a finished product. In order to provide highly accurate flow distribution and effective media, debris, and sediment filtration, Federal Screen is able to control the specifications of the slot precisely. In order to maintain the screen's proper design configuration and to handle intense pressure demands, support rods are positioned perpendicular to the wrap wire.

We design our Wedge Wire Screens to control various processing conditions, including volumetric flow rate, minimum dimensional media retention, minimum open area, and fluid pressure. Stainless steels and alloys can be professionally worked into both standard and customized screen applications and accessory products by Federal Screen.

Slot sizes range from 0.001 in. (25mm) to 1/2 in. (13mm).

Many exotic alloys are available upon request, including 321SS, Duplex & Super Duplex SS, Alloy 20,  Copper Nickel, Hastelloy C-276, Alloy B-3, Monel 400.   

The diameters of our screens range from 0.750 in. to 38 in., and screens can be fabricated in two or more sections up to 52 in. O.D.

There are many different configurations of screens, including cylindrical, flat, specialty shapes, and curved. Many different wire and rod sizes/profiles can be selected to create the exact screen you need.

Nipples, couplings, pipe, and flanges can all be welded to our screen.

Vessel internals and media retention products are made from fabricated and welded construction that is durable and high quality. Although perforated pipe and wire mesh may be less expensive initially, wedge wire screens are more cost effective and easier to install. Whether it is a vertical or horizontal vessel, any process or vessel requirement can be accommodated.
